weekend coffee at lorca

happy weekend! cian and i are heading to portsmouth new hampshire for the day, and it could not be nicer out. and, the leaves are looking mighty fine here in cambridge, so i can’t wait to see them further north. i’ll definitely be checking out some cafe and coffee shops while we’re there! but for this post, i’m going back to stamford connecticut when i visited dani and jake!

they took me to the coolest place - lorca. it was right down the street from their apartment, and when we got there, there was a line out the door! it’s super tiny, so that was part of the reason for the line, but also because it seemed like that was the spot to go to get your coffee on the weekends. it had a funkier vibe than most coffee shops i’ve been to, but that’s what made me love it so much! there was a mural painted on the far side brick wall, and cool vintage lights hanging over the coffee bar. it was the first weekend in october, so they had little pumpkins and gourds scattered around for decoration, which made the place extra cozy and festive for fall. aesthetic gets a 5 out 5! although, if you prefer getting your coffee and enjoying it at a table, i’d recommend getting there very, very early, or else you’re not going to have a choice but to get it to go.

i can’t weigh in too much on the food, because i didn’t order anything, but jake got a croissant and said it was delish! i did take a look at their pastries, and they looked super yummy. maybe next time? but let’s get straight to the coffee. dani and i both decided on the autumn latte, which seemed like lorca’s own twist on a pumpkin spice, but it had maple in it as the sweetener. i got mine with almond milk, and ooooo baby it was so tasty! it was definitely a bit sweet, but it wasn’t artificial tasting the way starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte is - you could actually taste the squashy-ness of pumpkin, and it was “spicier” too. it warmed me up and made me so so happy as i sipped on it throughout our walk around stamford. jake ordered an iced latte and said it was the best one he’s ever had - dani agreed! 5 out of 5 for lorca’s coffee.

thank you to dani and jake for showing me this spot - we’re definitely going back multiple times when i come and visit again!

now, what are everyones weekend plans? coffee perhaps? have you been to any of the places i’ve posted about? let me know in the comments of this post!
